Motivated by our 90-year tradition of excellent service for older adults, Lutheran Social Services of New England has established Luther Ridge at Middletown to provide the quality of care that has been rendered at the Middletown campus for over fifty years, while meeting the unique needs of today's older population in facilities designed for the 21st century.

ASSISTED LIVING For residents of the Luther Ridge community who require some help, including medical support, with the activities of daily living.

Brand new private 465-square foot studio apartments have a separate bedroom alcove and modern kitchen with appliances. Oversize bathrooms have large walk-in showers with bench. Large sunny windows afford beautiful views and plenty of natural light. All apartments have emergency pull cords. Assisted Living services include three meals per day, housekeeping and linen services, a fulfilling social / activity calendar, transportation for shopping, and linkage to community services.

Modern, spacious kitchenettes are designed to be accessed easily with lower counters and cabinets.

Each unit has an open floor plan with large windows that let in the natural light and views of our woodland setting.

This residence is financed by the Connecticut Housing Finance Authority and is open to income eligible applicants who are 65 years of age or older.

Eligibility:

Applicants for Assisted Living at Luther Ridge must meet a variety of requirements. The income and assets of single and spouse or companion are considered. The re are 18 Assisted Living units where the income parameter requirements are $13,524 - $28,044 for individuals and $20,352 - $32,088 for two persons. There are 25 Assisted Living units where the income parameter requirements are $15,432 - $41,688 for individuals and $22,260 - $47,688 for two persons. There is a limit on assets in order to be eligible for Assisted Living.  For updated information, call Luther Ridge at 860-347-7144. Additionally, all applicants must be screened by the Department of Social Services (DSS) for functional and financial eligibility for assisted living services.

A variety of extra services are available for an additional fee. These include medication monitoring, daily personal care as needed, safety checks, and the activities of daily living.
