Motivated by our 90-year tradition of excellent service for older adults, Lutheran Social Services of New England has established Luther Ridge at Middletown to provide the quality of care that has been rendered at the Middletown campus for over fifty years, while meeting the unique needs of today's older population in facilities designed for the 21st century.

Independent Living at Luther Ridge is for older adults of very low income who desire a supportive community while remaining independent.

Brand new private 505-square foot apartments have separate bedrooms and modern kitchens with appliances. Oversize bathrooms have large walk-in showers with bench. Bedroom and living room have wall to wall carpeting. Large sunny windows afford beautiful views and plenty of natural light. All apartments have emergency pull cords. This residence is a HUD 202 supportive living facility, which means that applicants must meet certain age and income requirements. The residence is open to any very low-income household comprised of at least one person who is 62 years of age or older.

Eligibility:

Applicants for HUD 202 Independent Living at Luther Ridge must meet the following income criteria to be eligible for residency: Income in 2007 must not exceed $28,400 for individuals or $32,450 for a couple.

Rent is based on 30% of adjusted gross income.

Assistance services are available to all residents of Luther Ridge for an additional fee. These include help with bathing, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation, medication monitoring, shopping and linking to medical services.
