Luther Ridge: Living Options for the Changing Needs of Older Adults

Welcome to Luther Ridge, the only community in Connecticut to offer 3 subsidized living options for seniors under the same roof. Our facility sits on a quiet wooded campus in the center of Connecticut, in Middlesex County.

At Luther Ridge, we meet the physical, social and spiritual needs of our residents with personal care and professional expertise; regardless of financial means.

Luther Ridge is a non-sectarian, non-profit community.  People of all ethnic and religious backgrounds are welcomed.

Information regarding COVID-19/Coronavirus

The health and well-being of Luther Ridge residents and employees is our first priority.

We are closely monitoring the situation and, in accordance with The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and other health agencies, are continuously evaluating our policies and taking extra precautions to protect our residents and staff. If a confirmed case were to occur, we would continue to act in full compliance with the CDC, local and state health authorities. We monitor new developments and evaluate our precautions daily. Currently we have implemented the following protocols below:

 Luther Ridge COVID-19 Protocol
  1. Visitors to the community will be restricted. Only caregivers, visiting nurses/health personnel, and vendors essential to daily operation of the community and care of the residents will be permitted inside the building. Children will not be allowed into the community at this time.

  1. Anyone entering Luther Ridge will be screened at the front desk. Screening currently entails answering a series of questions regarding symptoms, travel, and exposure to the virus.

  1. Luther Ridge & Ascentria Care Alliance has the right to deny access to anyone at any time and/or to ask any non-resident to leave at any time for any reason.

  1. Luther Ridge staff has posted handwashing instructions/signs throughout the building and has installed several new hand sanitizing gel stations.

  1. Luther Ridge maintenance staff will conduct ongoing disinfection of “high touch” surfaces throughout the building.

  1. All Luther Ridge out-trips and activities are suspended for the time being, with the exception of grocery shopping trips at designated times.

  1. HUD program residents and their caregivers must use the P-level laundry rooms ONLY. The laundry rooms on floors 2, 1, and Terrace at Luther Ridge will be used strictly for Assisted Living laundry only.

  1. All community activities will be suspended until further notice, including church services in the chapel and bible study.

  1. Meals will no longer be served in the dining rooms at Luther Ridge or Luther Manor. Residents will pick up their meals at designated, staggered times to avoid large groups of residents congregating in the pick-up areas.

  1. All residents should refrain from visiting other residents in their apartments and should maintain a distance of 6 feet or more according to The National Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines.

  1. Staff members cannot come to work if they have a fever of 100.4 degrees or higher, any symptoms of respiratory illness (cough, sore throat, runny nose, etc.) If a staff member begins feeling ill during his/her shift, they must isolate immediately and report the symptoms to the supervisor.

  1. If a resident is showing symptoms of the virus, they must call their doctor immediately and practice self-isolation (in their apartment) until further instruction. Residents must also notify Luther Ridge (by phone) of the situation.
